About the Artist
INGA QVARFORDT
Wood Carver and Leather Artisan
Can you tell us a little about yourself and your background in art?
Since I was a child I’ve always been doing a variety of handcrafts.
For example, greenwood carving, sewing, knitting, birchbark craft, traditional tanning, and leather work.
Can you describe the focus and activities of your workshop?
Greenwood carving with a knife is the main focus. And along with that I hope to give you the experience of a short walk in the forest on our way to the creek, where we carve, make coffee over the fire, and have “Swedish fika”.
What do you love most about your village or Jämtland?
I love our lake, the fields, the woods, the mountains and our 4 seasons, winter, spring, summer and fall . The seasons add so much variety and beauty to the landscape.
