During the workshop, you will be able to get introduced to every step in creating your own tableware from a clay. At the meantime, you will enjoy the moment of focus on touching your own clay to shape to what you have in your mind with the professional guidance from Marina.
“On my workshops I love to share my experience, how to work with the clay and inspire you to enjoy the moment in your progress.
Clay is a wonderful material to work with since you can form it to any shape you want and make it look like anything. No matter of your experience before, you will be able to make useful thing to bring back home. “ - Marina

Can you tell us a little about yourself and your background in art?
I've been a potter and artist for over 30 years, mostly playing with clay and concrete to create different forms. I fell in love with clay back in 1990 and got my degree from the University of Art in Bergen, Norway, at the ceramics institute.
After graduating in 1999, I moved back to Östersund and started working on a variety of projects, from tableware to art objects. With ceramics being so popular nowadays, I launched 1280° Ceramic Studio in 2022. We now have 25 studio members, all hobby potters, and I offer ceramic classes and host various events. I absolutely love teaching and inspiring others with my passion.

What do you love most about your village or Jämtland?
I adore my sweet, beautiful hometown by Lake Storsjön, surrounded by mountains. Everything is close by, and the area is brimming with cultural events. Plus, the Nordic light in winter and the long, light-filled nights in summer are simply magical.
